Ovulation Induction
Ovulation induction is an effective and safe option for women with irregular ovulation. The likelihood of pregnancy significantly increases with repeated, properly timed treatment cycles.
How is ovulation induction carried out?
If the maturation and release of the egg (ovulation) do not occur naturally, maturation can be stimulated with medication.
Most commonly, ovulation induction treatment is implemented using oral medication, aromatase inhibitor Letrozole.
If necessary, injectable medications (FSH, LH, and hCG hormones) can also be used. Injectable medications are potent, so their use requires careful monitoring.
The maturation of the ovarian follicle is monitored through ultrasounds. When the follicle reaches an adequate size, ovulation occurs naturally, or it can be obtained with an injection of placental hormone (Ovitrelle or Gonasi).
